Configuring Chabots

The Chatbot Settings Page is the central hub where you can view, modify, and manage all settings for a specific chatbot. This page is organized into several tabs, each focusing on a different aspect of the chatbot’s configuration.

Tabs and Their Functions:

  1. Overview:

    • Reports & Summaries:
View performance metrics for the past 7 days, including conversation reports and recent conversations.
    • Summary of Conversations:
Read a detailed summary generated from recent interactions to help you understand user behavior.
  2. Settings:

    • Basic Information:
Update the chatbot’s name, toggle its enabled status, set the base URL, choose the AI model, and manage integration queries.
    • Prompts:
Edit the chat summary prompt and the prompt that proposes sample messages.
  3. Widget:

    • Appearance of the Chat Widget:
Customize text messages (e.g., “How can I help you today?”) and logos (such as AI icons) that appear in the widget.
    • Color Schemes:
Adjust the background color, text color, and shadow effects to align the widget with your branding.
  4. Frontend:

    • User Interface Settings:
Set up the chatbot’s front-end appearance, including the introductory message, chat avatar, and placeholder text in the input field.
    • Dropdown & Product Card Settings:
Configure dropdown options (button text and behavior) and product card details (link URL, locale, currency) if the chatbot displays product information.
    • Advanced Styling:
Fine-tune advanced design options like button colors, hover effects, and custom CSS/JS to create a distinct user experience.
  5. Assistants:

    • Linking Assistants:
Select and manage which assistants are associated with the chatbot. These assistants can extend functionality by handling specialized tasks.

Additional Features:

  • Save and Delete Actions:

    • Saving Changes:
After updating any settings, click the Save button to commit your changes. The system validates required fields and shows feedback if saving is successful or if errors occur.
    • Deleting a Chatbot:
If you choose to remove a chatbot, use the Delete button. A confirmation dialog ensures you understand that this action is irreversible.
  • Propose Initial Instruction:

    • Generate initial instructions automatically. This feature uses AI to suggest a refined query for the chatbot, helping you set up effective communication quickly.
  • Real-Time Feedback:

    • Throughout the settings page, notifications and error messages are displayed so you know immediately if your changes have been saved or if further adjustments are needed.

How to Use the Page:

  1. Navigation:
Switch between tabs to access different configuration areas. Each tab presents a clear set of forms and options for its respective settings.

  2. Editing Settings:
Fields are pre-populated with the current chatbot data. Make any desired changes—whether updating text, URLs, or styling options—and check that required fields are filled in.

  3. Review Reports:
In the Overview tab, view performance metrics and conversation summaries to guide your adjustments.

  4. Finalizing Changes:
Click Save to apply your modifications. You’ll see notifications confirming success or indicating issues that need addressing.

  5. Deleting a Chatbot:
If you need to remove a chatbot, the Delete button triggers a confirmation dialog, ensuring you proceed only when you’re sure.
