Product Feeds

Product feeds are our mechanism for importing and managing external product data. They enable you to integrate product listings into our system by crawling external sources, filtering out unwanted items, and mapping incoming fields.

Key Features:

  • Identification & Basic Info:

    • ID & Name: Each product feed is uniquely identified and named, making it easy to reference and manage.
    • Type: Defines the category or nature of the feed (for example, “XML,” “JSON,” or custom types).
  • Operational Settings:

    • Enabled Status: Determines whether the feed is active and processed automatically.
    • Skip for Page Collection: Option to bypass the feed during bulk page collection if needed.
  • Source Configuration:

    • URL: The external source address where product data is fetched.
    • Listings Directory & Strip Namespace: Directives to locate listings within the source and to adjust XML namespaces or similar metadata.
  • Crawling & Data Extraction:

    • Crawl Type & Frequency: Set whether a full or incremental crawl should be performed and how often (in hours).
    • Regex Patterns:
      • Crawl Regex Pattern: Used to filter which URLs are eligible for crawling.
      • URL Regex Pattern & Replace Pattern: Modify or clean the fetched URLs before processing.
    • URL Property & Custom Category Syntax: Specify which property holds the URL in each product record and define custom syntax rules for categorizing products.
  • Data Mapping & Filtering:

    • Field Mapping: A JSON-based configuration that maps external data fields to internal product fields.
    • Filters: Criteria (property, operation, value) that determine which records should be included or excluded from the feed.
  • Additional Settings:

    • Default Domain & Analyzer: Ensure the correct domain is applied to the listings and specify the text analyzer (e.g., “NorwegianAnalyzer”) for search purposes.
    • Last Fetch DateTime: Keeps track of the last successful feed run.

User Benefits:
Product feeds streamline the process of importing product data. By configuring these settings, you ensure that only the relevant products are fetched, transformed, and mapped correctly—resulting in an accurate and efficient integration with your product catalog.
